Kooroora Bay - meaning " Place of Happy Gatherings"
We are a small boutique breeder of Standard Groodles originally from Kooroora Bay - Lake Macquarie/Newcastle, NSW and recently moved to 5 acres close by. We fell in love with the Standard Groodle Breed in 2012, when we got our 1st Standard Groodle Puppy and decided they were too good a dog not to share so we decided to become a Standard Groodle Breeder in Newcastle, NSW and searched high & low for the best mate possible to ensure a even better Groodle Puppy. Our dogs are family members and live with us in our home and yard, making them well balanced family members. They are wonderful, highly intelligent, gentle, loving companions that adore playing with our 2 children and their friends between the age of 4 & 14, with constant daily noise and activity. Whether it be playing under the sprinkler in summer, running alongside the pushbike, going for walks in the park, swimming in the lake, or cuddling up at our feet in the lounge room at night our dogs just adore being part of our family and give us BIG smiles to show it.
We are STRONG believers that Pets are life friends and family members and take this commitment whole heartedly. We are a small ethical Boutique Groodle Breeder and we are NOT about a quick profit . We have several litters of ONLY Standard size Groodle Puppy's a year and occasionally Standard Poodles or Double Doodles (Groodle x Labradoodle) and our dogs are pampered pets and "OUR family". We expect that anyone looking at taking on one of our puppies is of the same mind set. OUR Groodle Puppies for sale will go to FOREVER homes only as pets or Therepy dogs, under a FOREVER Home Contract and bring many years of entertainment, love and smiles as our dogs do to us.
Our Original Dogs
ORSA meaning " Little She Bear" is an Black F2 Groodle from Cairns QLD, and YOGI is a Purebreed Red Poodle from Victoria, with excellent Bloodlines from the USA. Yoda is a Cream F2b Groodle from Orsa's 1st Litter that was Sired from BellaLeata's Theodore. Recently with our move to 5 Acres we bought RED a lovely Standard Red Poodle, ELLA & MAPLE who are both very sweet loving Chocolate Standard Poodles and all have excellent Bloodlines from the USA & UK.
Our Puppies
Our puppies are Standard size ONLY and we have different generation crosses at different times of the year depending on which parent dogs are mated.
Depending on the generation cross different looks and coat types are possible. Groodles generally have a greater chance of NON-shedding to Low Shedding coats than their purebred heritage. We have puppies in colours of Cream, Apricot, Champagne, Reds, Dark Caramel/Chocolate Reds, Chocolate Brown, Black and now some Abstract (two toned) Red & White and Apricot & White Groodle Puppies at different times of the year depending on the parent dogs.
As Standard Groodles, our puppies will grow to an estimated size of 50cm-70cm with a weight of 25-35kg for Males and 20-30kg for Females.
DNA Genetic Testing
All our dogs have undergone Genetic Analysis and DNA tested for over 40 known breed specific disease to Standard Poodles, Golden Retrievers and Labradors with CLEAR results including;
Degenerative Myelopathy,
Autosomal Hereditary Recessive
Nephropathy,
Globoid Cell Leukodystrophy/Krabbe's Disease,
GM1- Gangliosidosis,
Mucopolysaccharidosis,
Neonatal Encephalopathy,
Progressive ROD CONE Degeneration (PRCD - PRA1)
Von Willebrands Disease Type 1.
Hip and Elbow Scoring
We have also had some dogs Hip & Elbow Scored with good results and as funding allows we will get all dogs scored.
Groodles are a cross-breed and cannot be registered as a pure-breed dog with Dogs NSW, however our dogs and puppies are registered with NSW Pet Registry that we transfer to you when you purchase a pup from us.
You DO still need to claim them under your name with your local council which is at a current cost of $69 in NSW (Other States vary).
